Q. 1 : What is Spatbox?

Ans: The idea is very similar to the original million dollar homepage with a twist. See, since milliondollarhomepage.com success there has been many and I do mean many copy cats, but none that has been successful enough to hit the news and really achieve success.

The biggest effect is the fact it has no lasting reality in the real world, meaning somebody on the street has no way of making a “connection” to the site.

That’s where Spatbox comes in!

It’s the same pixel purchase, but I am creating a magic cube that will actually be printed out in solid form and 100,000 will be sent out free into the real world. Think of it as a real advertising campaign that extends beyond cyberspace. These will sit on desks, in offices and homes and instantly grab attention and direct people to the site. These boxes might end up as some odd collectable.

But most importantly each cube will have the Pancreatic Cancer in the upper right corner and attract awareness for years to come. The profit from this site after creating and mailing the spatbox is expected to be $300K and we will be giving this to the Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research.

Q. 2 : Who are you?

Ans: My name is Crystal. I'm only 27 and have already experienced the death of my best friend, my mother. She passed away July 2005, after only a short six weeks from being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

Being a nurse, I was aware that pancreatic cancer was an extremely fatal cancer with no ability to recognize it until the final stages, giving it the name "the silent killer". She remained completely healthy up until the last 6 weeks. Although she didn't have to suffer for many months or years, the suffering was severe and seemed like it was much longer.

There are diagnostic tests available for almost every form of cancer, as well as treatments for nearly every cancer. However, when it comes to pancreatic cancer, people don't really hear about it as much. You see pink ribbons on cars, shoes, and almost everywhere for breast cancer, but not pancreatic cancer. In fact, there are no tests to run to detect the cancer in it's early stage where it is "fightable".

As this cancer is highly genetic, my sister and I run higher risks for this cancer, and are aware we are possibly facing a disease that is a 'silent killer'. I would love nothing more than to be able to support technology, science and medicine to come up with these valuable tools and tests. It would be wonderful to know that someday the words "pancreatic cancer" may not be an ultimate death sentence for someone and their family members.

Because of this, I have always told my husband that I wanted to donate to Pancreatic research and although we can can make personal donations, I wanted to do something bigger. Thats when he stumbled on other pixel site and he decided he could make one for me and see what we could do to raise money for the Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research. i hope you enjoy the site, advertise and help us make a difference.

Q. 3 : Why should I buy your pixels?

Ans: First and foremost, you will be helping to find cures for Pancreatic cancer. Our plan is to give the profits, estimated to be just over $300K to the Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research. This donation will be given in my mother's name Linda Stevenson.

Second, If you buy my pixels not only will your purchase be online but it will be in the hands of over 100,000 people, fiddling with it and wondering what each advertisement could be. I mean think about the daily remind on 100,000 desks to visit Spatbox.com with the opportunity to visit your site.

It’s a daily reminder to check you out, and everybody that passes by will ask the same question.

Think about this, if you decide to spend $150 on advertising, you will get 1 box on the cube. This is large enough to make a clear image of your company logo or something to catch the eye.

Now if only 10% of the people who receive a Spatbox see your ad, you will have 10,000 unique visitors so you paid only 0.015¢ per visitor. This is pretty cheap! But I think you will get much more traffic from this because others will see and play with the Spatbox for years to come.

Lets say over the course of the year, 12 (1 a month) people touch and do a search on the Spatbox and lets say only 1 out of 50 see your site. This means you will have 24,000 unique visitors, so you only paid 0.0006¢.

This can happen year after year. As long as a Spatbox is around, it will spark interest.

Q. 4 : What will you do with the money?

Ans: Once the site starts selling we will form a non-profit and then donate the profit which is estimated to be just over $300K to the Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research.

A good chunk of the income on this site will be used to produce and mail the 100,000 Spatbox magicubes that will be mailed to people across the world. Without these advertisers we would not be able to make the donation to the Lustgarten Foundation and want to make sure they receive a quality product.

Q. 5 : Who will receive the 100,000 magicubes?

Ans: There will be 1 free magicube that is sent to each pixel owner and then the 100,000 Cubes to the public free as follows;

75,000 cubes to random people that sign up on the site
10,000 to Fortune 500 HR Departments for hand outs
7,500 to Radio Stations
5,000 International
1,000 Newspapers
1,000 Magazines
500 Talk Shows

Q. 6 : Why do you have 12 sides on your spatbox?

Ans: A regular box has 6 sides, but this Spatbox is actually a Magic Cube that is a promotional item and kids toy. The box itself folds apart and turns itself inside out. So once you fold the cube you get all new 6 sides. These sides are reflected in the 12 sides on the webpage. Please note that at any given time your advertisement might be on the inside or the outside of the box and might not be visible until the person plays with the Spatbox.

Q. 7 : When are you going to send out the Spatbox?

Ans: Once the last advertising box is sold on the Spatbox, then it will be printed and mailed within 3 months of the completion. There is a long lead time on 100,000 magic cubes, not mention all the packaging and mailing required!

Q. 8 : But, what exactly is a spat?

Ans: It’s anything you want it to be. While a majority will be business related with advertisements, you can do anything you wish. Put your pet on here, or your significant other or something to make your mark. If you have a special message, then it is a spat and will have a text displayed when hovered over and when clicked, directed to your website. These boxes might end up as some odd collectable.

But most importantly it is something that will benefit the research of Pancreatic cancer for years to come.

Q. 9 : If you are giving away 100,000 Spatbox’s, then why are you selling them as well?

Ans: Well, their can only be 100,000 free Spatbox’s due to the production cost and there are billions of people, so you do the math! This is a unique conversation piece and will be talked about for years to come.

For those that want to own a piece of history they can purchase one since once the site is full and the initial printing has started no more orders will be taken, the number on the street is the number on the street.

In addition, the more we sell here the more we are able to donate to the Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research

Q. 10 : How long will the site be online?

Ans: Once the site is sold out, it will be redeveloped and designed to benefit the advertisers. I will keep the site up and running as long as economically feasibly, which is hopefully forever.
